Feldenkrais Method and creativity

Tuesday 20 May from 2 to 6 pm & Wednesday 21 May from 10 am to 2 pm (you can come for just one day or both days)
@Pianofabriek, Dakar room
rue du fort, 35

Feldenkrais method ...

is a method of body awareness through movement. It allows us to understand, visualize and feel the body as a whole. The Feldenkrais Method aims to deepen self-knowledge and expand our range of possibilities by exploring the body's mobility through the skeleton and its joints, supports, and gravity, and by promoting neuroplasticity—our brain's ability to create new connections—thus leading to greater fluidity in movement and greater autonomy.

…and creativity ?

Creativity is difficult to define; everyone has their own way of activating it, using it, deploying it, and identifying it. A simple definition would be "creativity is the ability to generate something original and adapted to the context." The Feldenkrais Method develops awareness and sensitivity to oneself and one's environment by awakening curiosity and observation, allowing the emergence of new movement and action patterns, and highlighting each individual's uniqueness.

The workshop in practice: Feldenkrais, improvisation, exploration

We will begin with a one-hour guided session, during which we will offer you a series of varied movements, inviting you to explore different possibilities. The movement sequences are simple or complex, but always adaptable to each individual.

An improvisation session will follow to deepen the tools offered by Feldenkrais, including listening, observation, and allowing what is "already there" to emerge, appear, and unfold. This improvisation will be guided and will take the form of an exploration of movement and space, and a writing process. The goal is not to achieve a specific result, but to enrich the questions.

This workshop is a laboratory, a space-time for research, accessible and adaptable to everyone, regardless of your age, practice, or physical condition. It's free, but i twill be possible, for those who would like, to contribute to the room rental costs.
